Every month I compile my top social media tips. These tips are directed toward business owners that are looking to grow their social following and gain new leads. Although many of these tips may seem simple, they can make a huge difference in your social presence and engagement.
Tip 1: Find photos to accompany your text posts. Facebook posts with photos receive interaction rates 39% higher than average.
Humans are hardwired to react to visuals. If you want your followers to interact with your post, it only makes sense that you should have an interesting visual to capture their attention and compliment the text in your post. Whenever you post (especially on facebook) try to find a picture that adds to your statement.
Tip 2: Make sure that your personal Linkedin is connected to your business’s profile. Many people don’t realize that Linkedin doesn’t do this automatically.
Since you are required to create your personal profile before your busniess’s profile on Linkedin, many people forget to go back and link their personal page to their business’s page. To do this, click “edit profile,” then erase your company name, then retype it (the same way that the page is named). A drop down box should pop up with your company’s page (select it). Now you will be connected! This allows people looking at your profile to be able to click on the company and be taken to your business page. Here they can learn more information about your company, and easily follow it.
Tip 3: Utilize Facebook Insights. They allow you to see the exact demographics that are interacting with your page, which will allow you to create better content for your target audience.
Facebook insights is a great way to figure out what your followers want to see more of. It allows you to see the demographics of your followers and which posts get the most interaction. You also can see customized charts that show what time of the day is the best for your followers. Tip 4: Posts that have a question at the end have a 15% higher overall rate of interaction.
This is an easy way to improve engagement! By just moving your questions to the end your post, you can get up to 15 percent more interaction. It will take some time until you figure out what kind of posts work the best for your audience, but the more you ask your followers questions, the better you will get to know them.
